He's Taking You Somewhere“Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name.” (Philippians 2:9) Welcome to aboveeveryname.com!Have you been feeling deserted lately? You've tried to contact your friends, but all you've gotten were answering machines, busy signals, and unanswered e-mails. When you finally do get in touch with your friends, they're too busy to talk. Many people are hurting because their friends are no longer around. Because women tend to become emotionally attached in relationships, we try to analyze the reason for this separation. A lot of times, however, we can't seem to find an explanation. It just happens. Furthermore, when we're by ourselves, we start wondering what we did wrong to push our friends away. We feel rejected and we're tempted to become bitter or unforgiving toward them. Before you take this route, look at this season of isolation as a time of opportunity and purpose. One day at church, I heard a preacher say that God will make you invisible to your friends. It made sense, but I asked the Lord to show me this in His Word. He took me to Isaiah 42:8, which says, “…and My glory I will not give to another, nor my praise to carved images.” Sometimes we have a tendency to rely more on our friends than we do God. We look to them for approval and acceptance; but when this becomes too extreme, God will take those friends away from us so we can refocus our hearts and minds on Him. Beloved, God is trying to get your attention. For this reason, it's important to understand that He wants some alone time with you. If you'll take some time to hear from Him, He'll talk. Our featured author, Eva Marie Everson will show us the results of having intimate time with God, and Evangelistic Tips will ask both the seeker and believer if they are hungry for God. It's comforting as believers, to know we're never alone because God is with us and He will never leave us or forsake us. Remember also that God never does anything in our lives unless it has a purpose. He's taking you somewhere, and in many cases, your friends won't understand where you are going because they are not going in the same direction. Nevertheless, rejoice! God has a great plan for your life, so instead of trying to figure out why you're alone; let God have His way so He can take you to the place of living a victorious life and giving Him the glory. When He's ready, He will restore your friends or give you new ones who are going in the same direction as you.
